Modify Project

Modify Project creates a projected edge from two source faces.

Required Starting Selection

You must select exactly two valid faces.

The tool is unavailable when:

• fewer than two faces are selected,
• more than two faces are selected,
• one of the faces is degenerate,
• the face planes are parallel.

Two Length Modes

Infinite Length

MeshTools extends the intersection line well beyond the current model bounds and creates an explicit edge from that long segment.

Captured Start and End

When Infinite Length is off, you must capture:

• one start terminator,
• one end terminator.

Each terminator must be exactly one entity:

• one face,
• or one edge,
• or one point.

The two source faces are ignored during capture, so you can keep them selected while choosing terminators.

Typical Workflow

1. Select two faces.
2. Open Modify Project.
3. Decide whether the result should be infinite or bounded.
4. If bounded, select one terminator entity and capture Start, then repeat for End.
5. Click Apply.

Result

On success, MeshTools creates an explicit edge and selects it so you can inspect or reuse it immediately.
